Stainless steel polishing process can be divided into two parts: polishing and light out.The two-part processes and methods are now summarized as follows:


The main goal of polishing the stainless steel welding parts is to remove the welding points and reach the workpiece with a surface roughness of R10um to prepare for light!

The grinding part generally follows:

  • Three processes: coarse grinding, semi-fine grinding, fine grinding

  • Three sides: two sides and one edge

  • Nine polishing machines

  • Twenty-seven regulatory institutions

Details are given as follows:

  1. Visual inspection of the upper parts into the polishing process, such as whether there is leakage welding, welding wear, uneven depth of welding point, too far from the joint, local depression, uneven docking, whether there are deep scratches, injury, serious deformation that cannot be cured in this process. If there are the above defects, repair should be returned to the previous process.If the above defects are absent, enter this polishing procedure.

  2. Coarse grinding, use 600 # sand belt to grind the work parts on three sides. The goal of the process is to remove the welding points left by the welding and the bumps occurring in the previous step, achieve the initial shape of the weld corner, basically no large scratches on the horizontal and vertical surface, no bumps, and the roughness of the surface after the work process shall be able to reach R0.8mm.Pay attention to the tilt angle of the sand belt machine and control the pressure on the workparts during polishing.Generally speaking, it is relatively moderate in a straight line with being cast!

  3. Half-fine grinding, with 800 # sand belt according to the three aspects of the grinding workparts, mainly to correct the joints appeared in the previous process and further fine grinding of the printing, the previous process should be grinding repeatedly, so as to achieve the workpiece surface without scratches, basically bright.The surface roughness of this process shall reach R0.4mm.(Note that no new scratches and bumps should occur in this process, because such defects cannot be repaired in later processes.)

  4. Fine grinding, with 1000 # sand belt is mainly to modify the fine lines appear in the front step process, grinding method is the same as above.The goal of this process is that the joints between the grinding part and the ungrinding part of the workparts shall basically disappear, and that the surface of the workparts is further bright. That the workparts after grinding through this process shall be basically close to the mirror effect, and the surface roughness of the workparts shall reach R0.1mm.

  5. About the replacement of sand belt: generally speaking, 600 # sand strip can grind 6-81500mm long workpieces, 800 # sand strip can throw 4-6 workpieces, 1000 # sand belt can throw workpieces 1-2 pieces, the specific situation needs to be work piece welding welding point, polishing pressure, and grinding method has a great relationship.In addition, it should be paid to replace the sand belt to ensure that the sand belt can rotate smoothly on the sponge wheel to achieve the purpose of uniform grinding workparts.

Description of three aspects of grinding: the welding parts need to be polished on the horizontal and vertical two sides divided by the welding edges. Specifically, a total of three sides should be polished. The grinding diagram is shown in the following figure below:

    Using the high-speed motor driven wool wheel (on sale), with the imitation of the front polishing method, the main purpose of this process is to polish the workpiece after the polishing of the previous processes, rather than further grinding.Note not to polish wax over the surface during this procedure, and not to damage the cover film.

  • shine

    This process is the last process of mirror polishing, with a clean cotton cloth wheel on the work parts surface after the mirror friction, all the previous work parts after the process is wiped clean and polished.The goal of this process is not to distinguish the welding traces on the workpiece surface, and to polish the polished wax workpiece, the brightness of the 8k mirror reflection, and the discarded part of the workpiece is hardly different from the unsold part.Full mirror effect is achieved.

  3. The wool wheels on the market are divided between thick and fine wheels.The choice of wool wheel is very important, the use of wool very rough wool wheel easy to appear grinding traces, in the actual production generally use fine wool wheel, so that the effect is good!

  4. In the process of grinding, it is necessary to control the pressure on the workpiece. The area of the wool wheel grinding the protective film is too large, and even the black piece will be hit and the original mirror effect of the workpiece will be damaged

  5. In the process of grinding, we need to continuously supply the big green wax, otherwise there will be smoke due to the high temperature of the wool wheel, which is very serious wear on the wool wheel and causes great damage to the stainless steel.

  6. For the small lines that need to be repaired in the light stage need to be manually repair separately, the repair work is very difficult, if you can try not to carry out any repair work at this stage.

  7. Waxed motors generally install two motors, each of which is responsible for polishing one side of the workpiece, and as you may consider adding a motor throwing the edges to increase the brightness of the edges.

  8. Replace the wool wheels as appropriate.

The polishing method is basically the same as the waxing method, but the wool in the wax rotates for the cloth wheel in the polishing.

  1. Polish is the last process in the whole polishing, we must make sure that the artifact will not destroy the mirror after polishing the light, otherwise the previous work is wasted.

  2. In order to get the brightness of the workpiece meeting the mirror requirements, the clean condition of the cloth wheel is particularly important. In the actual production, the cloth wheel should be replaced in time according to the actual situation.
